"Just to let you know, I'm adding a link to your page to my site: vwsucks.com."
"I like your website. I too have had problems with Vincent VW. I refuse to go there after my last visit. I stopped at Vincent to buy parts during normal business hours and the parts counter was closed. It was supposed to be open, but it was closed. I ask for assistance from the sales department but they were rude and belligerent. I left and have not been back since."
" The parts people at Dorschel are very knowledgeable and great to work with. To me, Vincent does not exist (even though they are only a mile from my house). Also, my '96 Jetta VW is a piece of junk. I am constantly being lock in or out of my car during the winter months. It rattles, vibrates, and exudes poor craftsmanship. I will never buy another VW product (or Audi, just an expensive VW product)."
"Hey, I was just reading through your site. Don't let Vincent push you around, keep it up! I have only dealt with Dorchel, mainly because I bought my car there, but I have also heard bad things. However, I do have a couple of things for you. First of all, I also drive a VW (2002 VW Jetta 1.8T), so I know where you are coming from with VW issues. It seems that the troubles you have had with your car are localized to the dealership and are not directly related to VW of America, so I think it is unfair to say that buying the actual car was a mistake. Dont get me wrong, I have had my share of problems with my car, but I had the opposite problems you did. I had a CV joint go at about 5,000 miles and I lost first gear, (I was given a whole new tranny for this one) at 12,000, but each time I took my car to Dorchel and they did everything that they could to get me fixed. That brings me to a question, why didn't you take the car to Dorchel after having a bad experience with Vincent? All cars will have their problems, but no dealership should treat a customer the way you were. "
"Good luck with the site, and keep on VWoA, the more pressure you put on them the faster things will happen. Hopefully Vincent loses their contract to sell VWs."
"I love the Web site! It's a public service."
"As for Vincent. How does a place like this stay in business? I had a bad bulb in the back of my car. The wanted to charge me $80 to look at the car and do diagnostic testing...on a bulb??? Never realized it was so technical."
"Boy, do I have stories for you. If you would like to hear all them, get in touch with me. I have kept you reading long enough. I am a large supporter of your website. It made me feel better to know that I am not alone in this. It makes me feel bad that there so many people like me out there. I am at a point where I don't even want to buy another VW, because of the service depts that I have dealt with."
"I just thought I would let you know of the fun (yeah right) I had with Vincent's service. A couple of months ago I took my car in for the check engine light being on and because the center console button broke. First the service manager (who seem to be on speed or way to much coffee) said that the check engine light wasn't covered under warranty. I always have this problem with them because I bought a 01' Jetta in the Fall of 2002. Then he realizes I have only had the car for less then a year and says ok we can fix that. Then I tell him the center console button just broke when I opened (i.e. defective part). He's like oh no that's your fault and it's going to cost 40 dollars to replace. Finally the other manager was like she has only had the car for less then year give her the part for free and install it. So after the service is all done, they say I am free to go but didn't even want to tell me why my check engine light went on. I had to ask and they forgot the paper work and had to mail it to me...."
"I want to thank you for your website as it help me see I was the only one we these issues with Vincent and won't be returning there...."
"I brought my 2 year old daughter with me on this trip, first mistake. After sitting for 20 min the service manager informed me that there was a recall that needed to be done, he asked if I wanted it done today... I said no I had my daughter with me and did not want to wait. So he walked off, no mention hey you car is done ect· So I wait another 30 min, and then I walk out to the cashier. She lets me know my car is done and I pay the bill. I then walk out to my car and find they have not put on the NY plates or bracket. So I walk back to ask someone to do it, and they tell me no one has time. So dumb me I schedule another appointment. Let's think about this for a minute you have time to do recall work but not put on a front plate bracket??????? I am sure this job would have taken all of 15 mins if that! So I drive home and I go to plug in my radar detector· what to ya know it doesn't work!!! They never fixed it prob didn't even look at it.
Ps. Them not installing the bracket almost cost me a ticket, because it is illegal as I found out to have a PA plate with NY inspection sticker!"
"2nd trip, they installed the bracket and did the recall work... because
of my first bad experience I though maybe I will call mid day to make sure all
the work is done when I go to pick it up! What to ya know? When I call and ask
about the car they told me it was done $8.00 so I ask about the cigarette lighter
they tell me I never told the· (After completing an exorcist head sip)
I said fine put my car in the lot and don't touch it until I am there.
It gets worse · I go pick up my car they try to charge me $24.00 now instead
of $8.00. So the casher calls the service manager, who comes strolling over and
says loudly and rudely ãRemember she's the One I told you about who called
this morningä I work with dealers on almost a daily basis. Never have I encountered
someone as unprofessional and rude as this man. I would have to assume it is because
he lacks personality and education on how to deal with the public. With a child
like mentality like that it must be hard going though life.
...In case you didn't notice I HATE! Vincent VW."
"Not only in the States do you find bad dealerships, but here in Toronto, Canada I am experiencing similar rotten service. I have not only had a slew of problems with my car in the last 6 month (mainly electrical) and right after the warranty is out, but the service some people think they can provide blows me away. My last situation was over my key... you the cool funky key that flips out... Well, all I wanted was to see where to replace the battery. The showed me and tested the battery, but after giving it back the key came apart in two pieces. They broke the tiny little plastic clip that hold it together. Well, the 'service consultant' not only said it was me who broke it, but the attitude, tone and rudeness this was all delivered to me blew me away. I was being totally nice and understanding until he approached me in this manner. Well, they ended up gluing it together because that is what they apparently do. Today the key came apart in two pieces again. Oh and they showed me where the battery was without a service order, so that was also thrown in my face on that they were doing me a favour. Yeah, some favour busting my key! Thanks...lol. I have come to the end of the line with Volkswagen and next year will probably get rid of the car, but in the meantime I am writing a nice long letter to their customer relations both in North America and Germany. The German website states that they make a quality car and stand behind it, so I figured they should know about their lousy service and car. So, coming across your site has given me an idea and with your permission I would like to include your site (and ask some others I have found) to show them I am not alone in some of my thoughts. If you could let me know if I could list in my letter, I would appreciate it."
"I bought a 2001 Golf GTI in September of 2001 from Vincent. 20 minutes into checkout, pasenger side power window drops into door. While testing the drivers side, it falls into door. 3 weeks to get replacement - and they left the car outside minus windows. Thank god it did not rain.!!! Second chance - in December, speedometer cable snapped. 3 trips in later ( 4 hours per trip ) - it is replaced."
"A Volkswagen of America customer service representative admitted to me that Vincent Volkswagen had "quite a history" of service complaints after I called their customer service line to file a complaint."
